Community First! Documentary Screening

Dignity First, Bangor Area Recovery Network, and Health Equity Alliance are proud to host a screening of Community First: A Home for the Homeless, a 65 minute documentary about the Community First! Village in Austin, TX. After the screening, there will be opportunity for conversation about replicating their success here in the Bangor area. Light refreshments will be available. Dignity First is a Bangor-based nonprofit creating a permanent, supportive, recovery-oriented village of tiny homes for unhoused people and intentional neighbors. Bangor Area Recovery Network is a peer-recovery support center with the mission to provide peer-based services, education, outreach, and advocacy. We offer a safe haven for those seeking recovery, their loved ones, and our communities. Health Equity Alliance offers a variety of vital services, advocating for and meeting the needs of people in Maine living with HIV/AIDS, those in need of sexual health and wellness services, and people who use drugs. Our departments and programs work collectively to make our community a better and more inclusive place, while tailoring care to our clients’ needs as individuals. ​
